For his work on Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms — 20th Anniversary Edition, Chuck Ainlay has won a Grammy® award for Best Surround Sound Album. Chuck and AMD Premier Artist Mark Knopfler shared duties as surround producers on the album.
Over the past three decades, Chuck Ainlay's acclaimed engineering career has allowed him to work with many of the world's finest artists, musicians and producers. He has received multiple Grammy® nominations for his outstanding work on numerous critically and commercially successful country albums. Ainlay's community involvement includes serving on the Board of Governors for NARAS, Leadership Music, and the SAE Advisory Board while maintaining an active role in the Nashville Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society.
A consummate professional, Ainlay is a huge fan of his AMD Opteron™ processor-based Digital Audio Workstation. "This machine has got untapped power and speed," says Ainlay, "Even with tons of tracks and plug-ins running at 96k. It gives new meaning to the words 'reliable' and 'pro'."
