Having won Grammy awards in each of the last four decades over the band's thirty-plus years, Ray Benson's band is a cherished Texas institution, revered for their rousing performances, faith to the region's musical heritage, and for extending the legacy of Bob Wills. The Texas State Legislature named him the official 2004 Texas State Musician. Benson also serves on the Board of Directors of storied Austin institutions KLRU, St. David's Foundation and SIMS Foundation.
Ray Benson used AMD64 technology in his conversion from analog technology to the digital domain. Benson owns and operates Bismeaux Studio and Bismeaux Productions, a successful recording studio and production company in Austin. Bismeaux Studio is proud to use AMD64 processing systems for its hard disk recording needs.
